May 14, 2010

Itis a great pleasure to welcome Dale Adelmann to the Conference on Church Music taking place at Trinity Center, Salter Path, August 19-22. Dr. Adelmann brings to the Conference many years of choral expertise. He is Canon for Music at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta where he oversees a comprehensive music program of 5 choirs, volunteer organists and pianists, 12 staff singers and 2 staff organists. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Yale University School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music, and a PhD from Cambridge University, England. He has served as Organist- Choirmaster at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buffalo, NY, where he was also Music Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus. Before arriving at St. Philips, he served at All Saints Episcopal, Beverly Hills. His choirs have often been featured on the NPR radio program “With Heart and Voice.”

Both the Conference of Church Music and the Youth Choir Camp will present music learned during the weekend at a celebration of the Holy Eucharist on Sunday. Everyone is invited to take part in this liturgy, regardless of attendance at the conferences. This Eucharist will also commemorate the baptisms of Manteo and Virginia Dare. The Rt. Revʼd Clifton Daniel, 3rd (Diocese of East Carolina) will preside.
